As we wrap up another year of muddy boots, laughter-filled trails, and wide-eyed discoveries, we can’t help but smile. Every time a child learns to trust their voice, every time a teen chooses kindness over aggression, every time a young person feels connected and confident in 'real life' — and in the great outdoors—it’s because your light is shining on their path.

Truly, you’ve been the lantern on our campouts, the glow on our forest walks, and the flame that helps kids and teens feel seen, supported, and brave. Thanks to you, 978 Midcoast youth benefited from our evidence-based programs in 2025. They’re climbing higher, digging deeper, exploring farther, and learning that exactly who they are, today, is enough.

 In 2026 we’ll need your continued light to:

*Double the number of kids who receive adventure therapy through our award-winning Taproot program, an innovative solution to Maine's youth mental health crisis.

* Pilot a vocational program for teens to explore careers in education, outdoor recreation, carpentry and land stewardship.

* Eliminate financial and transportation barriers so that all families have access to wholesome outdoor adventures for their children. 

To dream big and carve pioneering pathways while remaining nimble and responsive, we need you.During this annual appeal, our goal is to raise $150,000 - a community investment that equates to $153 per child. We can’t think of a more affordable way to move the needle towards emotional wellness for our kids now, and for generations to come.
