New Year’s Day PLUNGE!
Challenge yourself to plunge outside of your comfort zone to greet 2024 with laughter, celebration, and some shivers. Don’t worry, though! In true Hearty Roots fashion, we’ve got you covered. We celebrate grit and resilience. We celebrate you. Plungers will enjoy hot drinks and tasty treats, and all the heat we can bring to the beach. Post plunge will be a smorgasbord of unbridled dancing, harnessing your inner wild, and bathing in the inspiration of Maine’s wild blue ocean.
Why? Because it feels good to do good! Proceeds from our first annual Plunge-for-a-Purpose will directly support Hearty Roots programming for area youth. We work year-round to get local kids 'off the grids and into their hearts' by adventuring into Maine’s wild, mentoring children to be good stewards of their mental health and lifelong stewards of our land. You honor our work with your support. Thank you for showing up for kids.
Make a donation to Hearty Roots for $50 and come plunge with us! (Kids plunge free, but must be accompanied and supervised by their grown up.) Plungers can reserve their ticket and donate in advance, OR ask your network of do-good friends and family to sponsor you in a ‘plungathon,’ and bring your collected donation to the event. 12:01 Get your gift! In appreciation for your support, Hearty Roots will gift a unique, adventure-based present to the first 100 participants. Presents-for-a-purpose items include gift certificates to Reny’s & Sherman’s bookstores, fine vegan leather journals, camp chairs, day outing backpacks, stainless steel mugs, yoga mats, and other inspired items.
