Let The 2026 Adventures Begin!

Registration for Hearty Roots summer offerings opens at 12pm on Sunday, February 1st, 2026.

We are so deeply grateful to be gearing up for another Summer of Hearty Roots programming. With Each season, we’re reminded how meaningful it is to see this community of campers grow and explore alongside us.

Thank you for trusting us with your campers and for being part of this growing, resilient, and joy-filled community with us. Whether through quiet moments by the water’s edge, big belly laughs with new and old friends, or the sense of wonder that comes from trying something new, we believe that making space for these moments matters. We can’t wait to adventure together again soon!

For any questions about programs, scholarships, or the registration process, please feel encouraged reach out to us to anytime at programming@heartyroots.org.

Day Camps- Biscay Explorers, Woodside Adventure, & Theatre in the Trees

Monday - Friday 8:30am-3:00pm - $375/session

Suggested age range: Campers entering 1st-6th grade.

Biscay Explorers Day Camp offers the opportunity to explore, play, connect, and enjoy time outside with new and old friends guided by trusted adult mentors in intentionally small groups. Days will be filled with swimming, paddleboarding, nature exploration, group initiatives, and creative expression at the Hearty Roots Campus for Mindful Adventure. Underpinning these adventures is our Hearty Roots approach: meeting all campers where they are, creating a space for joy, gratitude, reflection, and connection, and supporting kiddos as they explore their stretch zone and discover their grit.

We are so excited to offer two specialty day camp sessions on July 6th-10th, 2026, designed with input on what campers love the most in mind. Theatre in the Trees is a week rooted in creative exploration and collaborative, nature-based theatre, in partnership with our friends at Storytree Theatre. Woodside Adventure Week is a session designed for campers entering 5th grade and above who want to learn hands-on skills to guide them in their future adventures. Campers in these two sessions can look forward to engaging, half day workshops in their track of choice, as well as all of their favorite day camp activities- swimming, paddling, and exploration.

Sunbeam

Monday - Friday 9:00am-3:00pm - $375/session

Suggested age range: Campers age 6 through 18.

Designed for children and teens who identify as neurodivergent, Sunbeam offers a week of connection and adventure at the Campus for Mindful Adventure on Biscay Pond. Participants will be provided opportunities for challenge by choice and active engagement through swimming, paddleboarding, exploring the Maine woods, and connecting to nature meaningfully. This inclusive, supportive camp invites participants to make new friends, foster independence, acknowledge self-worth, dig deep into their grit and resilience, and beam joyfully.

Coastal Kayaking Expeditions

3 Day, 2 Night Expeditions $650

Suggested age range: Campers entering 6th-9th grade.

7 Day, 6 Night Expeditions $1300

Suggested age range: Campers entering 9th-12th grade.

Our Coastal Expedition sessions invite teens on immersive sea kayaking expeditions in Muscongus Bay. Our approach of intentionally blending adventure and wellness practices offers teens the opportunity to build resilience and connect with friends and nature in a truly restorative way. Days will be spent paddling to different islands throughout Muscongus Bay, relaxing in hammocks, swimming off the shore, and cooking meals together- all while experiencing the growth, reflection, and joy that the Maine coast can offer.

We believe that all families should have access to high-quality outdoor programs.

There are scholarship codes provided in the description section of every program. You can choose the code that aligns with the fee amount that is most comfortable for your family’s budget, no questions asked.

Not sure if your camper is ready for a program? enrolling a camper who is slightly outside of the suggested age range? Have other questions about the session?
