THIS PROGRAM IS FULL. Please email jess@heartyroots.org to get on the waitlist.

Hearty Roots and The Good Supply are teaming up for an Earth Day Beach Clean-up!

Grateful for The Good Supply’s support, work in our community, and overall awesomeness, we are thrilled to collaborate with them as they celebrate their 10th Anniversary by contributing to their Breach the Beach Coastal Trash Pick-up by hosting a Earth Day Beach Clean-up at Pemaquid Beach for young and aspiring ocean protectors!

Participants:

This is a one-day Hearty Roots program for all kids ages 9-12. If your child’s age falls outside of this age range but they are excited to join us for this special program please email Jess at jess@heartyroots.org.

Experience:

Making a difference can be a day at the beach! Participants will get the opportunity to explore and clean-up Pemaquid Beach to celebrate Earth Day all while learning about the importance of caring for our coastal waters. We will then contribute any collected beach trash to The Good Supply’s collaboration with artist UpSculpt artist Cindy Pease Roe who, along with a group of local artists, will transform community-sourced beach trash into a stunning an exhibition known as “Whale Club” that will feature the installation of a 9’nine-foot whale sculpture. Learn more about the project and The Good Supply here!

Participants will start the day off with an inspiring introduction from the amazing founder of The Good Supply, Catherine McLetchie as she highlights the connection between art and environmentalism, cool opportunities to learn more about protecting our oceans, and more to get us ready for a day of doing Good!!

Everyone will get the opportunity to dig deep into their creativity and create a piece of their very own beach trash art and we’ll venture into other elements of a Hearty Roots experience: connection building, movement, reflection, gratitude, and joy!
