lisa steele-maley

Lisa delights in keeping an eye on the big picture, her hands in the details, and her heart open to possibilities.

Over the last thirty years, Lisa has worked in the wilderness and in cities, with infants and with elders, on the west coast and the east coast, and in many forms and places in between ~ always in pursuit of encouraging and supporting the healthy, sustainable, productive, joyful, interconnected lives we are here to live.

Attentive to the affirming rhythms of the natural world and the details of daily living and relationships, Lisa strives to nurture the fierce and tender connections between self, spirit, land, and community.

She is a gardener, parent, partner, educator, spiritual companion, and the author of two books, Without a Map: A Caregiver’s Journey through the Wilderness of Heart and Mind (2018) and Arriving Here: Reflections from the Hearth and Trail (2020).

Lisa was ordained an Interfaith Minister in 2019 and currently serves as the Executive Director and Dean at the Chaplaincy Institute of Maine.
