Multi-night expeditions provide opportunities for growth, grit, and joy on the serene coast of Maine. 9 campers and 3 dedicated outdoor & kid professionals will travel in sea kayaks and island camp, develop interpersonal skills, and connect with friends and nature in a truly restorative way.

Camper Experience:

Hearty Roots Adventure Camps foster mindfulness and resilience for Maine youth through a unique fusion of outdoor adventure programming and social-emotional experiences. Relationship building, exploring, recreating, journaling, yoga, and mindfulness activities are all a part of the recipe for programming that not only encourages positive affirmation, meaningful connections, and healthy mindsets, it provides a safe space for all participants to go on a journey of self-discovery. All camps culminate in a Closing Circle where campers reflect upon and share their experiences with each other and their families!

Hearty Roots Multi-night Expeditions are ideal for participants who are ready to take their adventures to the next level and are comfortable spending multiple nights away from home while sleeping in a tent.

A pack list will be sent to families in the weeks leading up to the start of camp.

M: Drop-off at 9:00am | F: Closing Circle & Pick-up at 12:30pm

Example Expedition Schedule:

Monday: Arrive to camp for introductions, community building, and opportunities to learn and practice skills around salt-water kayaking, Leave No Trace, map and compass, and coastal expedition preparedness.

Tuesday: Paddle to island in Muscongus Bay to set up camp.

Wednesday: A day of island exploring and coastal paddling, filled with Hearty Roots activities and adventures and another night of island camping!

Thursday: Final Day of island adventures.

Friday: Wrap-up and Closing Circle with families.

Scholarships are available to cover part or all of registration fee. Email Haley to request scholarship.
